FOB help SAICA to complete the paperwork
The new £300 million SAICA papermill in Carrington, Greater Manchester, is nearing completion with the buildings elements constructed and internal fit-out and heavy machinery installation in full swing.
With approxamately 1000 construction and installation workers on site, together with the numerous sub-contactor manufacturers and suppliers, the project is a well-needed boost to the North West economy.
An initial appointment of FOB to provide Architectural Services to the lead-consultant, Poyry, included the detailed design of the offices and co-ordination of cladding across this project.
The ability to ensure a seamless integration of the architectural detailing with engineering process culminated in FOB working directly for the client, SAICA on a range of operational buildings including CHP, Paper Mill, water treatment, gatehouse, transport offices and workshops. The role including liaison with specialist-subcontractors and Construction Manager, Christal has an on-site presence throughout the duration of the project.
The project is due to be competed late 2011 with production commencing in 2012.
