FOB to design Sustainable Borders Leisure Development
FOB Design have been appointed to develop proposals for a new lodge and leisure development in the Scottish Borders.
The dramatic hillside location with 360 deg panoramic views offers the potential for a range of high-quality accomodation together with associated outdoor leisure activities not currently available that will enhance tourism in the area.
The Scottish Borders are sometimes overlooked by many tourists, favouring the Highlands to the north of the Central Belt however the area rivals its stunning beauty and a range of activities that are on offer.
The Borders are also within easy access of Edinburgh & Glasgow and their wide range of cultural and leisure activities that would enhance any visit.
Our client has recognised the increased demand for UK based holidays and ‘Staycations’ that can also offer less sanitized activities than are currently offered in some of the more established leisure offers.
The proposals will aim to be highly sustainable development that is carefully integrated into the environment to ensure that the drama and beauty of the natural forest and moorland setting will be maintained.
The project will work towards a commencement on site in 2013.
